SENIOR DESIGN II
PIEZOELECTRIC NANOFIBER SCAFFOLDS
Our work is a research project that investigates the use of electrospun PVDF-TrFE as scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. We evaluate the plausibility of using these scaffolds for Schwann cell cultivation for spinal cord repair. We present an optimized protocol for the fabrication of the electrospun nanofibers and then evaluate the resulting piezoelectric and mechanical properties.
